Dean Stanzel was born and raised in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where he still resides today and has been married to his wife Alisa for almost 30 years. He has 3 children Erika, Alana and Benjamin, and a grand-puppy named Jupiter. He has been involved in a variety of sports throughout his life and after high school attended the University of Saskatchewan where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering Physics degree. He was a member of the university track team despite a heavy load of classes and proposed to and got engaged with Alisa during this time as well.
He did not ever practice as an Engineer but rather went into sales and business straight out of university. He was a top sales producer for a few different companies early on in his career but started his first incorporated business in 2003 in the financial services sector.
After running that business for a decade, he took some time off to be a stay at home dad when his third child was born. A few years later he started his second corporation, Top Of Mind Gifts. Despite the Covid pandemic, he developed a high end B2B strategic gifting company that was able to grow to be an international supplier of quality gifts to businesses in a wide variety of sectors and industries which he continues to own and operate today.
In 2024 he came across the custom 3D card business and soon became the exclusive distributor for Canada. During this time, he met Sher Perras and after a few discussions decided to partner up with her and create Strategic 3D Cards!
Dean has become a pickleball fan and addict and enjoys playing soccer in his spare time. His foray into soccer occurred later in life and was a result of his oldest daughter starting to play soccer. Never having played before, he ended up becoming a coach for her team and learned the game along with his children, all of whom ended up playing soccer at competitive levels. He has volunteered on several not for profit boards over the years and has become an avid networker in recent years which is where his introduction to the 3D pop-up card business came from.
